ABOUT
Michael grew up in the “Granite Capital” of the world … Elberton, Georgia. He spent his childhood playing ball with his friends, traveling with his family, and going to church with his family and friends. At the tender age of 10, at a Bailey Smith Crusade, Michael came to understand his sin problem and his need for God’s salvation. On June 7, 1988 he repented of his sins and placed his faith in Jesus for salvation.
After graduating from Elbert County High School, Michael attended and earned degrees from Truett-McConnell College (Associate of Arts) and Shorter University (Bachelor of Science in Christian Ministry). Michael met his wife, Tricia, while attending Truett-McConnell College. After graduating from college, Michael and Tricia were married before moving to Wake Forest, North Carolina where Michael attended and graduated seminary from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv). Michael has pastored churches in Georgia since graduating seminary. In 2010 he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree with a focus in expository preaching from Luther Rice University.
Michael and Tricia have four children (Liana, Landon, Leighton and Liam). In his “free” time he enjoys anything that allows him to
spend time with his family, reading, working in the yard, running, hanging out with friends and watching Georgia Bulldog football. Michael currently serves as the lead pastor of Ewing Road Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia.
